Desfile de Alebrijes. Alebrijes Parade.

A finales de Octubre como desde hace dos años siendo este el tercero el desfile de Alebrijes monumentales. Los alebrijes son mezclas de animales que a veces parecen semimíticos. Estos son hechos con papel y resistol. Les dejo una muestra de algunos que me gustaron.

The last days of October since 3 years ago the Alebrijes parade has been carried out. The Alebijes are an arrangement of different animals all mixed in, sometimes they seem semimithyc. These are done with paper and glue. I live you here some that I liked.


Se pueden ver números por que al final del desfile hay una premiasión y uno gana.

You can see some number because at the end of the parade an alebrije wins.

Warashas.

Hace mucho que no escribo, me gusta pensar que es por tener mucho trabajo, lo cual es cierto. En las últimas semanas el trabajo se ha vuelto más pesado y pareciera que la economía se empieza mover, además de que se estan pressentando oportunidades que estaban en standby. Desde hace un mes quería enseñarles unos zapatos que hace una amiga del trabajo. Se llaman warashas y son hechas a mano. Como yo amo el color turquesa y el morado me las hizo de estos colores.

It has been a long time since I last wrote here. I like to think that is due to the amount of work I am currently having. In the last weeks work everything has started to ove with the economy, and also there has been opportunities that seemed to be on a standby. Since last month I wanted to share with you my new shoes which were don my a work's friend. Their name are warashas and they were handmade. Becuase I love purple and turquoise she did them in these colors.

Hola como estan, pues aquí en la Ciudad de Mexico esta semana hemos tenido que vivir con la paranoia y la histería diaria. A veces me parece que el hecho de que la información no sea congruente provoca que nosotros nos confundamos más de lo que deberíamos. Por decreto oficial no se laborara, a menos que las actividades sean esenciales del 1o. de Mayo al 5o. de Mayo. En mi oficina todos laboraremos desde casita el lunes y martes, esperando instrucciones del gobierno para los días siguientes. El encierro creo que nos pone de peor humor, pero mi esposo hace todo lo posible para hacer el tiempo más llevadero. De hecho me acaba de regalar estas flores que me hicieron sentir más tranquila y por lo menos olvidar la histeria diaria.

Hi how are you? Well here in Mexico City we have to live with the daily hysteria and paranoia of the swine flu. Sometimes I think that the fact that the information has not been congruent provokes that we become confused more than we should be. By a government decree we would not work if the activities we carry out are no essential for keeping the city going on from May 1st. till the 5th. In my office  we have order to work from home Monday and Tuesday waiting instructions for the government. This confinement put us in a very bad humor, but my husband is making it easier on me. In fact he has just brought me some flowers that makes me more happy and don't think about what is going outside.

I uploaded some pics of the flowers. This flowers are Lilies and are my favorites.

 Aqui pueden ver un acercamiento. Las lilis se pueden conseguir todo el año en México sin ningún problema. Here you can see a close up. The lilies can be bought all the year along in Mexico with out any problem.

Regalos Comunes en Bodas. Common Small Gifts on Weddings

Adoro esta época del año, no sólo el clima es delicioso (hace calor) sino también es la temporada ideal para casarse. Si vives en el D. F. es muy común que tengas muchas bodas en Cuernavaca, Acapulco, Valle de Bravo, Tepoztlan (estas son ciudades que están cerca del D. F. y que su clima casi siempre es calido) por el clima y la necesidad de alejarse de la ciudad.  Hace unas semanas fui a una boda en Cuerna y quería compartir con ustedes los regalitos y objetos que dan los anfitriones a los invitados.

I love this season of the year, no only because of it's delicious climate (it is hot again) but also because it is the ideal time of the year to marry. If you live in the D. F. (Mexico City) is very common that you have a lot of weddings in Cuernavaca, Acapulco, Valle de Bravo, Tepoztlan (these are cities near the city and that their weather is between mild and hot) due to the weather and the necessity of going out of the city. Some weeks ago I went to a wedding to Cuerna and I wanted to share with you some the small details and gifts the host gives the attendees.

Como muchas de las bodas son al rayo del sol se suele regalar sombrillas, diganme si no estan increibles.

Because many of the weddings are under the sun it is common that umbrellas are given away. Tell me isn't it incredible.

En esta foto estaba jugando con mi esposo, pero me sirve muy bien para ejemplificar este tema de los regalitos. Este es un abánico que nos entregaron al iniciar la fiesta, por lo mismo del calor.

In this pick I was goofing with my husband, but it helps me to show you this  gift topic. This is a fan that was given at the beginning of the party. It was so hot.

Este otro me encanto supongo que por el colorido. A la hora de bailar te dan muchos detallitos, como sombreros, pelucas,  penachos (como el que se puede ver abajo), maracas, y hasta algunos se disfrazan y bailan.

I also like this one due to it's colors. When we are dancing they give you a lot of gifts like hats, wigs, plumes ( like the one in the photo), maracas and even some of the gests gets into a custome.

La primera es una tarjeta con imagenes de artesanías mexicanas que podemos encontrar facilmente en el país.

The first one is about mexican crafts which are very common in the country.

This one presentes the different thins that are associated with Mexico.

Semillas Suecas. Swedish seeds.

Después de muchos intentos de ponernos de acuerdo toda la familia de mi esposo fuimos hoy a la exposición Semillas Suecas. Esta exposición es presentada en el Museo Franz Mayer. La idea de la exposición es mostrar  productos suecos diseñados para niños. La verdad es impresionante ver estas muestras de ingenio que no se ven todos los días. 

After many times trying to get every one to agree to go to the exposition in my husband family, finally today we made it. We went to see Swedish seeds Exposition. This expo is presented at Franz Mayer Museum. The idea of this expo is to present swedish products design for kids in Mexico. The truth is that it is amazing to see this kind of inventiveness that is not seen every day.

 

Notas Bilingüales. Bilingual Notes.

He estado pensandolo mucho y creo que lo más fácil es hacer este blog en mi lengua materna y en inglés para poderlo compartir con más personas. Por esto de esta entrada en adelante las notas serán primero en español y luego con una traducción. A ver como nos funciona esto.

I have been thinking a lot, and consider that the easiest thing is to write this blog first in my mother thong (spanish) and latter in english. With this form it would be easier to share it with more people. Since this post and all the post that come after this it would be written in spanish and latter english. Let's see how it work.
